History & Heritage

Domaine Bruno Colin is a testament to the rich winemaking heritage of Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. Founded in 2004 by Bruno Colin, the estate is the result of a family legacy that dates back generations. Bruno, the son of Michel Colin-Déléger, began his career in 1993 at the family domaine, Michel Colin-Déléger et Fils, where he honed his skills alongside his parents and brother. In 2003, the family domaine was divided into three independent estates, and Bruno embarked on his own journey, crafting wines that reflect his passion for the land and his commitment to excellence. Today, Domaine Bruno Colin is celebrated for its purity, balance, and terroir-driven wines, which embody the essence of Burgundy’s most prestigious appellations.

Terroir & Vineyards

Domaine Bruno Colin spans 9 hectares of vineyards across some of Burgundy’s most renowned appellations, including Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Santenay, and Dezize-les-Maranges. The estate’s holdings include 20 appellations, with a particular focus on eight Premier Cru whites from Chassagne-Montrachet. These vineyards benefit from the region’s limestone-rich soils and cool continental climate, which are ideal for growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Bruno’s meticulous approach to viticulture ensures that each parcel expresses its unique terroir, resulting in wines that are both distinctive and reflective of their origins.

Winemaking Philosophy

Bruno Colin’s winemaking philosophy is rooted in precision, respect for terroir, and minimal intervention. He manages every aspect of the vineyard and cellar work, striving to produce wines that are mineral, refined, and vibrant. Fermentations are carried out with native yeasts, and the wines are aged in French oak barrels (20-30% new oak) to enhance complexity while preserving the purity of the fruit. Bruno’s goal is to craft wines that are the purest expression of their terroir, balancing tradition with modern techniques to achieve elegance and finesse.
